Michael focuses his practice on business litigation and labor and employment matters.  In his employment practice, he represents clients in a wide range of industries and advises employers on many aspects of workplace law, such as avoiding allegations of discrimination, retaliation and harassment, handling leave entitlements and accommodation requests, complying with wage and hour laws, and a host of other employment-related topics.  His experience includes investigating and defending lawsuits and administrative charges brought under various state and federal employment laws, as well as drafting and enforcing numerous employment and non-competition agreements.   In his business litigation practice, Michael handles many types of business disputes in various forums.  He also provides litigation support to the firm's insolvency practice.

In 2008, Michael graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Law, summa cum laude, where he was a member of the Order of the Coif.  He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Tennessee as well, majoring in English and joining a handful of academic honor societies, including Phi Beta Kappa.  He is a member of the American, Tennessee and Nashville Bar Associations and currently serves on the Executive Committee of the TBA's Labor and Employment Section.  Prior to joining MGLAW, Michael practiced with the law firm of Waller, Lansden, Dortch & Davis, PLLC.  He and his wife are actively involved at their church in south Nashville.
