Experience


Robin represents debtors, creditors, and committees in Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases and out-of-court restructurings. Many of Robin's clients are small to medium-sized companies that face financial difficulties. Robin spends significant time with business management to analyze and understand the causes of problems and to determine management's goals. Then, she guides the company to create and implement the most cost-effective solution, which may include seeking additional financing, working deals with creditors, or seeking relief under Chapter 11.


Robin also represents creditors in Chapter 11 cases. She has substantial experience in defending preference and fraudulent conveyance actions, as well as cash collateral and stay relief matters.

Representative Engagements

Debtor's Counsel

In re The Mattress Store, Inc. – represented retail mattress sales company in successful Chapter 11 reorganization.

In re United Partners, LLC – represented hotel management company and its principal in separate Chapter 11 cases. The principal successfully restructured several million dollars in debt.

In re The Tack Room Company, Inc. – represented restaurant management company with 3 locations in the Birmingham, Alabama area that resulted in the sale of substantially all assets as a going concern.

In re Maran Group, Inc. – represented real estate and warehouse company and its principal in separate Chapter 11 cases. Both cases were successfully reorganized.

Preference Actions

In re James River Coal Company, et al. – represented more than 40 defendants in preference lawsuits brought by the Trustee for the Unsecured Creditor Liquidating Trust.

In re Phoenix Restaurant Group, Inc., et al. – represented 23 defendants in preference lawsuits brought by Debtors.

In re Pen Holdings, Inc., et al. – represented 6 defendants in preference lawsuits brought by Debtor affiliate, The Elk Horn Coal Company, LLC.

In re Fleming Companies, Inc., et al. – represented 6 defendants in preference lawsuits in Delaware.

Creditor Representation

In re Adelphia Communications Corporation, et al. – represented creditor owed more than $60,000 by two debtor entities.
